Communications options 1-4 for the most common connection applications. See corresponding number in the equipment choices.

1. Local Control- First level of communications with operator using the on-board controller. Most users need a PVPS24U which is the universal plug-in power supply. No communications cable is usually needed unless an output is needed. You would then need a DC-61 or DC-251 in #2.

2. PLC or Analog output or control- PLC or other analog control of the Apex devices. Power is usually supplied by the PLC but if a plug in power supply is needed, then see #1 or the PVPS24U Universal Power Supply. A communications cable is usually needed to connect to the PLC or analog controller.

3. RS-232 or computer interface for single Apex Device- Using a RS-232 port on a computer with a single Apex Device. Set-up usually requires a Plug-In Power Supply, PVPS24U (in #1). Also, a 9 Pin Din to RS-232 cable is needed to connect to the computer. If there is no RS-232 port on the computer, a USB to USB converter is needed.

4. RS-232 computer interface for multiple Apex Devices- For multiple Apex devices to a computer, a BB9-USB communications hub is needed with a dual ended cable for each Apex Device. Set-up usually requires a Plug-In Power Supply, PVPS24U (in #1)
